Henry Lawson Birthsite The site where Australian poet and story writer Henry Lawson was born on the Grenfell gold fields.

Henry Lawson was born in a tent on a stormy night in 1867 on the claim mined by his parents.

The birth site now features BBQ facilities, a turn around for caravans and motorhomes and is close to the off leash park where you can exercise your dogs.

Other Henry Lawson tributes in Grenfell include the bust near the ANZ Bank in Main Street which recites poetry, the interactive statue of Henry Lawson on the corner of Forbes Street and Main Street where you can sit with Henry for a selfie, and the Walk of Fame plaques in Main Street footpaths that commemorate each official guest at the Henry Lawson Festival since it started in 1958.
